gEDA-dev: gEDA/gaf CVS utils build failure

I'm building the latest and greatest CVS on my development box and
I ran across this when building the utils package:

I don't have time to look at this now, but if anybody has any ideas,
please let me know.  No, I do not have PCBDATADIR or PCBLIBPATH in my
config.h or config.h.in.  I don't understand why this broke.  Most 
curious.  Anybody else able to build utils?  Maybe it is something on 
my devel box that I broke when I updated.  Thanks,
