PCB can be made to do about anything with a little bit of scripting.
Most of my designs undergo edit sessions going back and forth between
pcb and emacs.

I was missing a feature for this board I did:

  http://www.ieap.uni-kiel.de/et/people/stephan/msl/eda/TFlex.pcb

On this rigid-flex board I had the need for more than two component
layers.

The board has two, four, and six layers on parts of the area. I added
tiny vias for the connectivity check to the component pads on the
inner layers. For DRC and shipout I had two small sed scripts to
remove the tiny vias and produce two .pcb files with the components on
only the inner or only the outer layers.

This board shall fly to Mars in 2009.

Stephan
