gEDA-dev: pcb wiki documentation on thin-draw and other key mappings
Hi all PCB developers and wiki-editors,
Using the gtk gui from a fresh cvs co (May 13th) I have found the
following:
1) I noticed that on http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:pcb-quick_reference
the command for thin draw in paragraph "Key Mapping" in the "PCB
Keystrokes" table should read:
"| thin-draw toggles thin-draw mode"
instead of:
"\ thin-draw toggles thin-draw mode"
Furthermore I wonder what extra information is given in the "Viewport
Keystrokes" table.
Is this in the same mode ?
BTW: The keystroke mentioned in the pull down menu is correct ("|").
2) I also noticed that in both key mapping tables <tab> and <shift>-b
have the same functionality mentioned while in the pcb program itself
the <shift>-b keystroke doesn't appear to have any effect whatsoever, is
this intentional or some kind of copy/paste typo in the wiki page ?
3) In the pcb program, in the "Edit" pull down menu, the command "Undo
last operation" is marked with a "U" (upper-case) while the key mapping
on the wiki page is "u" (lower-case).
Remarkable for a *nix based program ;-)
The "U" (upper-case) doesn't undo the last operation while
"u" (lower-case) does.
The key mapping tables in the wiki page doesn't mention this key mapping
at all.
Closer examination learns that most (if not all) key mappings mentioned
in the pull down menus of the pcb program are in upper-case, and all key
mappings in the wiki page are in lower-case, and so are the keystrokes
in the pcb program itself.
4) In the pcb program in the "Info" pull down menu the "Key
Mappings"/"Keystrokes" are referred to as "Key Bindings".
This may be confusing for our non-native English speaking/reading
audience.
Just ignore all this if it's considered nitpicking ;-)
Kind regards,
Bert Timmerman.
