Bearing in mind Ales's comments, I think we should aim to commit this
code as is soon. I'll attempt to write some comments for the
GschemDialog portion.

As the atexit(...) function works and should be portable, we can leave
any alternative implementations for such a point it seems sensible to
change it.

Does this sound ok?
