I, for myself, use it on FreeBSD, and even the most current stable
release of FreeBSD includes Guile 1.6.8 in the ports tree, nothing
newer.  I think that the current gEDA snapshot in the ports tree is
20070216, which is pretty recent. Without having a newer guile in the
ports tree, I don't think I can build it out of the box anymore. (I have
to install a local version of 1.8...)

Not sure where that leaves the Solaris folks either...

Just my $0.02 CDN.
