Oohhh, this suggestion has come up several times now and I am starting
to like it (no dash).  People will be free to ignore the date part when
reporting what version they are running, it doesn't seem to annoy too many
people, and it satisfies my obsessive nature to tie a release to a date.

Package maintainers, if you can avoid it, please don't package up the
last release 1.0.1-20070626, cause I'll do another release (stable and
unstable) probably after the next freedog meeting.
