Re: gEDA-dev: Non-text attributes
Hi all,
As I had thought, there is difficulty in "="s in
"attribute value". Hope we would not disallow them
because of difficulty, instead we should solve the
problem. In fact, thanks to Ales's great architecture
of gEDA, this feature is implemented and its working.
Also, by allowing most text characters within
"attribute value", it paves the way for further
automation as seen in some highend EDA in which
variables and equations are also deliberately allowed
in "attribute value" field.
Its best not to limit the EDA capabilitie unless its
absolutely necessary. From what I have seen so far,
gEDA, under the leadership of Ales, are very capable
of doing great things for the EDA world. Its my hope,
that this trend continues.
Best Regards,
Paul Tan

Well, that's the point of having a dedicated attribute element -- to
remove
any ambiguity caused by having '=' characters in attribute values.
Cheers,
