gEDA-dev: VLSI P&R Interest

Hello all,

I am a software engineer with many years in EDA.  Primarily physical  
implementation but also LVS.

I've been toying with starting a P&R project but the biggest hurdle  
seems to be library access.  What is the best way to get the data as  
input?  Would it be best to use magic format?  OA looks promising but  
their license is rather brain dead.

If anyone has suggestions or interest in this sort of project please  
drop me a line.
