That result was with:
./configure --with-gui=lesstif --prefix=/opt/pcb  --disable-doc

Now I did a compile with:
  ./configure --with-gui=gtk --prefix=/opt/pcg  --disable-doc
and I get a good start and these log messages only:

unknown flag `newfullpoly'
unknown flag `newfullpoly'
unknown flag `newfullpoly'
unknown flag `newfullpoly'
unknown flag `newfullpoly'
unknown flag `newfullpoly'
unknown flag `newfullpoly'


So this is when lesstif and your new code are combined only.

Good with gtk.  Thanks for the experimenting and improving Ben.
