Re: gEDA-dev: Adding Tools menu to Gschem to improve gEDA ui
Hi Hamish,
Thanks for the info. By the way, is "zenity"
package normally installed in Debian distro?
It is normally installed in redhat/fc6+, as
far as I know.
If "zenity" package is normally installed
in most linux distros, then I can quickly
come up with a revised "gsch-tools-menu.scm" which
can support multi-page and multiple parameters
kind of user/common scripts to be included
in the gschem window Tools Menu.
Then I can take my time to add stuff to the
SCM-GTK code in gschem core, to get that
feature in, unless someone valunteer to do
it for us.
Best Regards,
Paul Tan

Not on a Debian (or derived) system; system-gschemrc is a configuration
file (it's in /etc/gEDA after all). If you upgrade gschem then one of
three things will happen:
1. If the new package contains a file that has changed, and you haven't
changed the previously installed file, you'll get the new version
automatically.
2. If the new package has the same file as the old package, you'll keep
your changed version automatically.
3. If the new package has a changed file and you've also modified the
installed file, you'll be asked how you want to proceed (preserve or
replace).
