Did you recompile and reinstall libgeda after you applied the patch? I
had to modify libgeda/include/colors.h header.

Interesting. I haven't thought about having major/minor grids in gschem
so I can't say that's on my wish list, but I see where that could come
handy. For example if major grid would be 4x snap spacing it would make
it more obvious where to place pins on symbols to have the standard 400
spacing between them.
