Specifically, the AP210 pieces?
These people actually have a piece of software just for editing
information about a PCB's layer stack... worth a look.

There is also some useful and interesting stuff about electronics in
this document here (found from the wikipedia article)
http://www.tc184-sc4.org/SC4_Open/SC4_Standards_Developers_Info/Files/STEP_application_handbook_63006.pdf
Look around Pages 150,159,
http://www.ap210.org/tiki/tiki-index.php
http://www.ap210.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=STEP-Book+AP210
Lots of good stuff here:
http://www.wikistep.org/index.php/Main_Page
And:
http://www.steptools.com/support/stdev_docs/express/ap210/html/index.html
Seems like this is stuff people are working on "right now", as far as
software support is concerned. It seems a shame the standard is so
damned huge, and not freely available.
Down with non-free standards!
