gEDA: Gwave snapshot 20020122
Announcing a new release of gwave, a waveform viewer for spice simulation
output and similiar datafiles of "analog" data.
The biggest new features in this version are related to Y-axis zooming: on
each wavepanel's right-button popup menu are new options for sweeping out
a Y-axis height or XY region to zoom in the Y or both X and Y. Several
users have requested that this come off the TODO list and into the code.
Related to that is a dialog box for exactly specifying the wavepanel's X
and Y displayed area.
The way Y zoom currently works is that once you do a Y-zoom operation, the
Y-axis displayed limits stays where you set it, even if you add more
waveforms that change the minimum or maximum Y over all datapoints points
in the wavepanel. A menu option and zoom-dialog button allow
"unsticking" this Y zoom and returning to full-size automatic Y
scaling. This seems to do what _I_ usually want - but I'm interested in
feedback.
This release should compile using guile-1.3.4 or guile-1.4. Compilation
with 1.3.4 accidently broke in the last snapshot. As usual, the
appropriate version of guile-gtk for your version of guile is required
(see the Readme). Gwave doesn't yet work with CVS guile or the guile 1.5.4
development snapshot, although I've made some progress towards that.
