I think the spacer keyword should be placed in the pintype column and be 
lowercase, even if I cannot imaging that there is a device with a real 
"SPACER" named pin.

The SPACER only works if the pin sorting is deactivated. Is that what 
you have intented?

Do you have an example source file?

After testing I can put your changes to CVS till the end of next week.
