gEDA-dev: Numerical analysis of circuit boards

Hi everyone
I'm working on a piece of software that can numerically calculate
various electrical properties of traces on a printed circuit board.
Currently it is able to calculate capacitances between traces and output
them in a SPICE-friendly form that can for example be added to the
circuit simulation. It can also calculate peak electrical field values
and trace resistances (although that is a bit inefficient at the
moment). It may also be possible to calculate inductance and
transmission line parameters with some modification, but I haven't
looked into that yet.
The code is currently good enough for my purposes and not quite ready
for a release. However if anyone is interested in a tool like this, I'm
prepared to clean it up a bit, write some more documentation and release
it under GPL.
I'm guessing that with some added scripting capabilities (I'm thinking
about libguile) this may in time become a general-purpose tool for
numerically evaluating boards drawn with PCB.
Please let me know if there is any interest in such a tool at gEDA.
Best regards
Tomaz Solc
